Road Maintenance
Since the county assumes no responsibility for our neighborhood roads, their maintenance rests solely with the property owners and residents. In 2015, the Manor experienced two high rain events. These two downpours had catastrophic effects on our roads. The force of the water running down the roads removed material from the steep sections of the road depositing it as sand where the road leveled out. As a result, residents had to negotiate both very deep ruts and soft sand.
Road Work
To address this issue, neighbors are joining together for road work parties. First, we use sand bags as a stable base to build up low spots on the roads. Second, we builds "rolling dips" to slow down the rain water and where possible to divert it off the road. Dips used at natural wash crossings help keep the water in the wash and prevent it from flowing down the road.
